A task manager that isn't the PARA system

The Tiny Tasks & Notes template is my everyday task manager that is simple yet effective. It isn't clogged up with projects and data, it's just a simple intuitive system that keeps me focused on the day to day work I have in front of me.

I love using Apple Reminders, it's simple and I love the way it is laid out. I also love Apple Notes, when it isn't in chaos. The problem is that they are two totally different apps and I can't link them together. Therefore I wanted to create a Notion template that would join these two apps together, really use the simplicity of their systems that would make my life easier.

What are the things I want from a task manager?

• And inbox to sort incoming tasks
• Ability to add "Do Dates" rather than "Due Dates"
• Allocate a folder or area
• Add a tag

What are the things I want from a note taking system?

• Quickly add new notes and sort later
• Add tags based on work —quick notes, meetings, brainstorming etc.
• Pinned notes for information that I need often and have access to

So this is what I created! And further to that I wanted a template that would work smoothly on both iOS and on my Mac. So for this one the main dashboard has toggle views to make life easier for using in iOS, and then in the detailed view I can dive into more detail of tasks and notes that works best on Mac.

These are toggle views so that I can easily use them on a phone, not just on my computer. These views only have what I need at a quick glance, quickly manage, and get focused on what is important.

Areas

Here is the genius of this task manager —all areas have these views, so you could function this more like projects if that's how you like to run a task manager, or simply like me with just a few areas. Unarchived notes and unchecked tasks will show up in this gallery view, making sure you stay on top of what is important!

And to make functionality more natural, I have created two detailed views. These are for when you are using a laptop and want to have a clearer overview of everything right in front of you!
