Church Notes
Church Notes: Where Chaotic Note Taking Meets Digital Organisation
For over 15 years, I have been taking notes in church, not just that but also in other leadership environments such as conferences, boardrooms, conversations, small groups, and many others. I also love taking notes when I am watching content from courses I have been doing or podcasts I have been listening to.
This is where the Church Notes Notion Template has been birthed from. I wanted one simple combined place to store all my note-taking (not just church, but that just happens to be what this is called).
Simply add a new note by clicking the "New Entry" at the top of the dashboard; this will add the date of entry as a starting point.
From there, my suggestion is to use one of the templates within the page —this will automatically add it to the correct notebook (plus an icon), and you can dive straight into taking notes from the environment you are in!
If you want to add more details, then you can press the three dots and add further information about the meeting if you think its importance!
In the standard template, there are 8 notebooks already for your notes to start being added, and you are always welcome to add more or edit these ones!
This quick view will let you know how many notes you've taken in each of the environments and a brief description of what each notebook is for. You can also click on the notebook and view all the notes within!
The other feature that I am proud of is the "Sort Assist" which helps make sure you don't have notes that are missing notebooks or key information such as speaker or location of event. You could check in on this every now and again to make sure all your notes are sorted correctly!
I hope by now you are convinced this is the template for you. If not, then you should at least give me a follow on Threads or Substack because there is always more to come!
